Kommentar
Der Verleger Carington Bowles (*1724 - † 1793) hatte zwischen 1764 und 1793 eine Reihe von Anleitungsbüchern herausgebracht und immer wieder variantenreich neu aufgelegt. Diese hier von 1793 bereicherte er um Reproduktionen nach Du Fresnoy und Lairesse. Von Letzterem finden sich auf S. 9 in der Mitte der Abbildung die Haltungsschemata und jeweils rechts und links davon Teilungsvarianten des männlichen Körpers: links 8 KL und rechts 10 KL.
